Foundation FSSC had the pleasure of hosting our first FSSC Information Day in Istanbul this week. Over 80 participants—including directors, academics, certification program managers, industry professionals, and retailers—came together, along with a fantastic lineup of regional speakers who shared their valuable insights.
Necat KIRKIL, the FSSC Representative for Türkiye and the Middle East, hosted the event. Ante Batinic, FSSC 24000 Technical Manager, and Colin Morgan, FSSC Market Development Director, were also present. Necat’s efforts and local expertise were instrumental in fostering connections with regional industry professionals and creating an engaging platform to discuss FSSC food safety and social sustainability certification Programs in the region.
The positive reception of this inaugural event in Türkiye highlights the growing need for meaningful dialogue on food safety and social sustainability in the consumer goods industry. FSSC sincerely thanks all attendees for their constructive discussions, which provided invaluable perspectives on the topics, and we look forward to continuing the collaboration.
Although it was our first FSSC event in the region, I believe we’ve set the stage for an impactful, recurring, and international event focused on Food Safety and Social Sustainability. We were truly humbled by the overwhelmingly positive feedback. As a nonprofit foundation, it is incredibly fulfilling to collaborate with such dedicated individuals in our field, united by shared goals and contributing meaningfully to FSSC’s vision of creating a better world.Necat Kirkil (FSSC Representative for Türkiye & the Middle East)
